canon photo5

As I've posted before, lots of things + me being lazy have made updates quite sporadic as of late. But here are the fruits of the last few days worth of labour...

3 entries into the Canon Photo5 competition. The basic premise? Canon sends you 5 objects in a nice recycle-friendly cardboard box. You take 5 photos- one photo for each object. The only condition is that an object has to be IN the photo and has to be recognisable- ie. if they gave you say a button, you can't submit a photo of Jessica Alba and say that the button in between her boobs... or somewhere else.

So this years objects were:

- tea candle
- red ribbon
- bubble wand (to make bubbles!)
- cocktail umbrella
- crayon

Being lazy and due to time/patience factors, I only made 3 entries. I warn you now- my photography is not the best and these 3 photos were taken and edited in less than 5 hrs. DO NOT EXPECT MIRACLES

Colouring in a rose
(Thanks Dr Pham, for letting me use your hand- I like the "Red" too)

Finally letting her go...

But yes- those are my fruits of labour and I hope at least one of them makes it into the top20. I guess I'll find out in 2 weeks time. (Note - the focus seems to be on creativity, not editing. Well at least from the other entries so far...)

In the mean time, checkout the competition here.

(PS- yes Jeanie, I noticed your comment. You beat me to this post!)

Yeah - I'm betting on the umbrella one as well. The ribbon probably has the most editing, but that and the rose are concepts that others have done (looking at some of the entries)...

Haven't seen anything like my umbrella one though. I just hope the judges like it. A new camera would be awesome!

So next wk- vote for me!
