Being in the Emergency Department (ED) you get to see a lot of life threating stuff. Here is a list of some of them:
1. Patient (Pt) fell and has decreasing pain. Pt fell a week ago.
2. Teenage girl 'brought in by ambulance' (BIBA) after having Red Bull and feeling like she was dying. Upon arrival pt walked straight out to mother and went home. (This wasn't seen by me, but a fellow doctor)
3. Parent brings in child with scabies. Three nights in a row. After the treatment has already been started.
4. Pt presents with severe abdominal pain. ED busy, so seen 1hr later. Pain completely gone without any medical treatment
5. Patient felt dizzy 1 week ago. Has ongoing deafness issues. And a cough that's been there for 2 yrs. And maybe shortness of breath (SOB). Upon asking further questions, SOB only when he runs. Admits he just wants a letter to the GP, so he can get in quickly and not have to wait 3 wks for an appointment.
6. Pt with waxy ear. Nil pain. Nil else. Coming to EMERGENCY.
7. Pt vomitted and unable to walk straight. After 3 bags of goon.
As you can see, it's all life threatening stuff. What would the world do without us?
We do great things at Emergency

Presentation 7 - patient possibly called R.H. ???
hilarious!
No. 6 was epic.
Well, you can't blame the Pt's. People can get a bit paranoid with these simple things sometimes. :D
